Precision Spur Gears

Precision spur gears represent the most classic gear form with simple structure, direct power transmission, and zero axial thrust. Our factory has manufactured these components continuously for 21 years, making them part of our company heritage. The transverse module range covers 1 to 10 with tooth counts from 17 to 180. This lower tooth count limit prevents undercutting. If your equipment has space constraints, we can adjust through profile modification, though we recommend staying above 17 teeth to maintain tooth root strength.

Consistency in Large Batch Production

Manufacturing precision spur gears might appear straightforward, but maintaining consistency across large production runs requires significant expertise. Our setup technicians possess extensive experience in hobbing and shaping operations, carefully controlling tooth profile deviations and cumulative errors. We use base tangent length as our primary inspection metric, maintaining tolerances within ±0.02 to 0.06 millimeters. This directly determines backlash and meshing smoothness between mating gears. If the base tangent length deviates from specification, transmission experiences sticking or excessive backlash. We inspect every part before shipment to ensure dimensional uniformity.

Two Heat Treatment Options

We offer two heat treatment solutions for precision spur gears. Standard industrial equipment uses quenched and tempered treatment achieving HB 210-260 hardness, balancing machinability and strength. For applications requiring wear resistance, we perform tooth surface induction hardening to HRC 48-56 while maintaining tempered toughness in the core. This treatment costs less than carburizing and suits medium-load applications. We provide recommendations based on your operating conditions during drawing review.

Custom Support and Warranty

We support custom manufacturing based on your drawings and samples. Before ordering, we offer free drawing review to verify tooth counts and profile modification coefficients. During production, we regularly share real photos to keep you updated. We provide a one-year warranty covering non-human quality issues with free rework.
