Aluminum Spline Shaft

Aluminum spline shafts are ideal for lightweight transmission applications. When equipment weight is critical, such as in aerospace, robotics, and high-speed motion mechanisms, using aluminum alloy instead of steel significantly reduces rotational inertia and overall weight. Spline modules range from 1 to 3.5 with teeth 12 to 36 and accuracy Grade 8-10. Overall shaft length spans 80 to 400 millimeters with spline length from 20 to 120 millimeters. We recommend suitable aluminum alloy grades based on your specific application requirements.

We use 6061-T6 or 7075 aluminum alloy for these shafts. 7075 offers higher strength for applications with greater load requirements. 6061-T6 provides good comprehensive properties with excellent machinability. Surfaces receive hard anodizing treatment achieving HV 350-450 hardness. This anodized layer provides both wear resistance and corrosion protection. One strict prohibition applies: aluminum absolutely cannot receive quenching or carburizing treatments. If your drawings specify these steel heat treatment processes, we immediately confirm the material selection to avoid processing errors causing part failure.

Our 15 workers follow specific operating procedures for aluminum processing. Aluminum cutting speeds and feed parameters differ completely from steel, with different tooling selections required. Our setup technicians understand these differences and maintain tooth profile accuracy and surface finish quality.
